Since JBR is littered with a plethora of restaurants choosing where to dine tends to become a battlefield. TRIBECA is a new-ish open in JA Ocean View Hotel which offers healthy, fresh and organic options. The menu is color coded with all green items being organic, which is at least two-thirds of the menu!
For drinks we started of with: berrylicious and lychee coconut iced tea. While the former was syrup heavy, the latter was served unsweetened and proved to be refreshing.
Bruschetta sampler: tomato, walnut tapenade and porcini mushroom on toasted quinoa bread. The standout was the walnut tapenade with a subtle smoky flavor spread across the thick crusted bread.
Baked organic greek feta with oregano, black pepper + watermelon, a fairly simplistic starter with crumbly, melt in your mouth, well seasoned cheese. Feta worked incredibly well with the bruschetta so order these two dishes together.
A well cooked organic salmon filet with julienned sugar snap peas in a slightly overpowering goats cheese salad.
Handmade ricotta gnocchi with porcini mushrooms + truffle oil (can also opt for a crudaloia sauce). Soft gnocchi with sauteed mushrooms with the rich buttery truffle oil sauce. Gnocchi was near perfection, loved this hearty mushroom heavy dish, warmed up the soul.
Organic ravioli stuffed with beetroot and mascaporne with pea foam and sage butter. This was one flavorful dish with a bunch of textures- silky ravioli bursting with velvety beetroot puree with a hint of mascaporne. Less heavy than the gnocchi, so perfect when you don’t want to feel too laden down.
Almost forgot to mention their fantastic crispy sweet potato fries and if fries aren’t your thing (although I doubt) they also have a sweet potato mash.
TRIBECA doesn’t scrimp on the flavor or deliciousness in their dishes and provides a great atmosphere anytime of the week! Place was on fire on a Wednesday night and need to return to try their AC/DC pinball machine!
