Reem Al Bawadi just unveiled their new campaign called: Give a Little supported by Coca Cola, which will provide daily meals to laborers in the Holy Month of Ramadan. How it works is that a give a little card (above) is placed on every table and you just have to hand it over to your waiter who will add 20 AED to your bill.
Since we were here for the unveiling we also got to try a bit of what Reem Al Bawadi has to offer. The restaurant itself is quite big and has two different areas (smoking/non-smoking). The interiors are a blast from the past, loved the lamps and different Ramadan inspired lights. We visited the branch located on Sheikh Zayed Road, Manara exit.
We started off with some fresh juices: on the left is my tangy pomegranate juice and on the right is mom’s concoction of pineapple and pomegranate!
There were the traditional mezze options: hummus, moutabal, kibbeh, fattoush, tabbouleh, mozzarella sticks; all of which were great and enjoyed by all.
The yalange (vine leaves stuffed with rice) really stood out, initially quite strong due to the lime and olive oil but then the flavors of the rice, tomatoes and vine leaves hits you balancing out the dish.
We also loved the cheese sambousek, most of the sambousek’s we’ve had are incredible salty; these ones were light, perfectly fried bits of cheesy goodness.
For mains a huge mix grill was put in front of us, I can vouch for the chicken tawook which was juicy and went great with the garlic sauce: mmm garlic sauce. The kabab halabi and meat arayes were also really good.
A great campaign with even better food and a chilled out vibe is what you’ll get at Reem Al Bawadi. Btw check out their friday buffet brunch from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, a great selection of items to please every palate: even for my picky family. 130 AED per person without beverages.
